Work with the Recycling Laboratory to recycle more in school.

we plan to work and collaborate with this company. The first step is to sign an agreement and get a workshop for our school!

Use the school's social media to promote the recycling campaign.

Isabel Calle will help us to promote the campaign each month.

Student Reflections

In this project, I learned that many things that we think are trash can be recycled, and can be useful for other purposes. It is possible to make strong and resistant materials with all your waste making it valuable and useful. With all the plastic you throw, for example, some companies can do new things like floors or benches with packages of tetra pak or plastic bottles. (Vale)

I learned that when you recycle a little amount you collaborate to take care of the environment so it is important to recycle in every way you can. I also learned that the environment needs our help. It depends on us as we depend on the Earth. If you help the Earth by not contaminating it, then in return you ensure that the ozone layer doesn't disappear and this helps the sun to not be so strong and dangerous for us.(Alison)

In my project in our group Eco-Friendly Quito, I learned that you need to start recycling because you are helping the planet. Also, you can give materials another life like with bottles you can make new products and reuse them. Also, I know that there are more R’s like you know that there are Reuse, Reduce, Recycle and now I know there are more R’s. Did you know that you need a perfect recipe to make compost? The recipe is organic waste, leaves, grass, water, and oxygen. Last, in conclusion, I learned many many to reduce waste. First, you think once and then you think twice before consuming and producing waste which means that you can learn more about recycling and waste to help the planet. (Pau)

I learned in this project that you don't need only to recycle, you can recycle, reuse, reduce, and more. I also learned that if you waste food or materials that can be reused animals can eat that and for example, the shells of the turtle start to deform. I also learned that every amount of garbage that you don't throw into landfills helps a lot to the environment.

In conclusion, this project was fantastic! (Joaquín)

Mentor Reflections

I am very proud of the group’s inquiry process and responsibility. They needed a little guidance and then they took action on their own, showing agency and leadership skills. They did an excellent job in the presentation communicating about their project and recycling campaign. They showed to be very knowledgeable, caring, and risk-takers! I want to thank Vale, Paula, Alison, and Joaquín for all your hard work! You are an awesome team!
